Phuket Ranked answers the questions people ask about Phuket, one page per question. Examples are where to eat seafood in Rawai or which hotel in Karon is best.
We do not visit, taste or score anything ourselves. Each page gathers the best-of lists that guides, magazines, blogs and review sites have already published on that question. It then ranks the places by how strongly those lists agree. A place normally needs to appear on at least two lists to be ranked, and when a page shows a place named on only one list, it says so. Every list we used is named on the page with its date, and full details of each list are available on request through the contact page.
The method is published. Payment cannot add a place or move it up, and we do not use lists that let businesses pay for a numbered position.
Phuket Ranked was founded by Matthew Gold, a resident of Phuket who has loved the island since he first visited in 2002. None of the rankings reflect his personal opinions. All of them are the result of the scientific method he developed, which is set out in our white paper.
