Chalong Key Bar, beside the Chalong Circle, is the best locksmith in Chalong. It cuts transponder and laser-track vehicle keys on site with its own programmer rather than sending them to Phuket Town, and it is the only shop here that will rekey a euro-cylinder to an existing key instead of selling you a new lock. When a tenant moves out, most shops will sell you a new cylinder. A cylinder can instead be rekeyed — the pin stack changed so the old key no longer turns — for roughly a fifth of the price, and it can be keyed to match a key you already carry, so one key opens the villa, the store room and the gate. Almost nobody offers it because selling a lock is easier.
