Freedom Beach is a 300 meter crescent of white sand below a forested headland, reached only by longtail boat or a steep trail down through the trees. People come to swim and to snorkel at both ends of the bay, where the fish gather, and the season runs December to May, quietest before 10 in the morning. The walk down takes 15 to 20 minutes with a 200 baht entry fee, and the climb back takes longer, so bring water.
“The sand here is very fine and white, like flour, and the water is crystal clear.”

At night Bangla Road shuts to traffic and its 400 meters turn into a walking street of neon, bars, clubs and cabaret, with music coming out of every doorway. Street performers work the crowd between the bars, and the clubs keep going long after the beach has gone quiet. Plenty of people walk it just to watch, and at the street food stalls the vendor finds you a seat at the long tables and brings your food over.

At Tiger Kingdom visitors choose which tigers to sit with, from newborn cubs to giants over four years old, and each session inside an enclosure lasts about ten minutes. Children under 15 or shorter than 160 centimeters are limited to the smallest and newborn tigers, and there are cheetahs too for anyone four and older. A trainer takes photos on the visitor's own phone during each session, and a professional photographer works on site as well.
“Petting the cheetah honestly felt just like petting a house cat.”

How the points work
We read every independent published best-of list we can find for the question. Each list gives 10 points for first place, 9 for second, down to 1 for tenth, and 5 points to each place on a list with no order. Points are added up. A business must be in the top 10 of at least two lists to be ranked. Rankings are never sold. Full method.
