Splash Jungle is a water park built at family scale, and its slides run from the Boomerango raft ride and the Super Bowl to a six lane Whizzard for racing side by side. The Family Raft Ride takes parents and children down together, while the smallest swimmers have an Aqua Play Pool, a Kids Pool and a spray park of their own. Between slides there is the wave pool and a 335 meter lazy river.

Wat Mai Khao is a forest temple, one of the few in Phuket of the strict Dhammayut order, and its halls are plain and hold relics of respected teachers. The abbots planted and still tend many of the trees themselves, some now more than fifty years old. Below the main hall a path leads to a small lake with enormous goldfish and white egrets nesting around it.

Turtle Village is a small two story shopping plaza built around a fountain of three turtles stacked one on top of another, and Mai Khao's resort guests walk over for coffee, dinner or a pharmacy run. In the evening a little market sets up selling handmade goods. There is a playground for children, souvenir shops and a supermarket, so a quick visit covers the beach basics as well.
