The Memory at On On Hotel, long counted the oldest hotel in Phuket, was built in 1927 to a design by an architect from Penang, and its rooms appeared in the opening scenes of the 2000 film The Beach. A 2012 restoration kept both grand staircases and turned the open center of the building into a red-tiled courtyard with a pond, overlooked by lounges and walkways. The reception has floral Sino-Portuguese tiles, travel trunks from the 1920s and a small museum of old photographs, and arrivals are met with cold towels and rose tea.

Hotel Verdigris takes its story from Martina Rozells, a Phuket-born Thai-Portuguese woman who married Colonel Francis Light, and its name from the blue-green patina that forms on weathered copper and brass. Wood carvings by Kriangrat Thephabutra run across the doorframes and furniture, and every room has herringbone parquet and hand-painted Baba-style nightstands. Breakfast in the glass-fronted Sunroom comes from a rotating group of Old Town eateries, and each set includes a red, turtle-shaped Ang Ku Kueh, a sweet that Baba families place on praying tables during the Hungry Ghost Festival.

Casa Blanca Boutique Hotel fills a whitewashed and revamped Sino-Portuguese mansion on Phuket Road in the historic center of Phuket Town, with baskets of bougainvillea on its facade. Rooms are individually decorated, with graphic wallpaper and modern art. Its Cafe Y Tê serves cakes, pies, coffee and tea, and the hotel has its own garden and a small outdoor pool.
