La Gritta has served Italian food at the Amari resort since the early 2000s, from a terrace that looks straight out over Patong Bay to the Andaman Sea. Couples book a sea view table ahead for their last night or a big date, and the meal starts with a basket of freshly baked bread. People talk most about the truffle pasta and the seafood risotto.

Le Versace cooks French food under executive chef Alain Carré, whose thirty years in kitchens include Michelin-starred restaurants in Paris and Switzerland. His lobster ravioli is made by hand with the claw and tail meat of Canadian lobster, and the five-course chef's menu changes with the season. Dinner is served on a hillside terrace above Patong Bay, and a table before sunset is recommended for the view.
“Probably the best view, food and drink combo you can get in Patong.”

Pizzas from The Kitchen Table's stone oven are the highlight, the Caprese and the Padana among the favorites, and rotisserie chicken comes off the spit for sharing. The bistro belongs to Absolute Twin Sands, and its open-air tables sit beside the lagoon pool, quiet enough for a dinner for two. The kitchen buys local produce where it can, and the menu is built for sharing.

Sizzle is on the roof of Avista Hideaway, with Freedom Beach, Paradise Beach and the green hills laid out below, and almost every table gets the view. The kitchen is a grill: steaks, Kurobuta pork chops and seafood, with tuna tartare to start and tiramisu to finish. Simona, the Italian manager, runs the floor, and a birthday gets a song with guitar and bubbles.
“We came with seven people and no booking, and the wait staff did everything they could to accommodate us.”

How the points work
We read every independent published best-of list we can find for the question. Each list gives 10 points for first place, 9 for second, down to 1 for tenth, and 5 points to each place on a list with no order. Points are added up. A business must be in the top 10 of at least two lists to be ranked. Rankings are never sold. Full method.
