Sizzle sits on the hillside roof of the Avista Hideaway above Patong, and the whole terrace looks out over the Andaman Sea and the forested hills. The grill is the centerpiece, turning out Australian wagyu tenderloin and an Okayama black bean tenderloin. Starters run to a Japanese-Peruvian hamachi tiradito and a chilled crab salad gazpacho.

Bubbles sits beside the pool at Grand Mercure Phuket Patong, serving breakfast in the morning and later a menu of Thai dishes and international plates such as fish and chips. At its seafood buffet, French oysters sit on a chilled station and seafood is grilled in front of diners before going into hot dishes.

Savoey lays its lobsters and crabs out on ice beside Patong's beach road, and you choose how your lobster is cooked, in butter and garlic or baked with cheese. Crab comes in chili sauce or in a yellow curry, and the kitchen keeps the spice mild for visitors unless you ask for Thai taste. A singer performs live while you eat, and the tables back by the hotel pool are away from the street.

How the points work
We read every independent published best-of list we can find for the question. Each list gives 10 points for first place, 9 for second, down to 1 for tenth, and 5 points to each place on a list with no order. Points are added up. A business must be in the top 10 of at least two lists to be ranked. Rankings are never sold. Full method.
