Phuket FantaSea is a Thai cultural theme park built around one evening show, Fantasy of a Kingdom. It tells Thai myths and legends on a huge stage with a cast of hundreds, elephants among them, plus illusions and stunt battles. Before the show there is a carnival village of shops and games and a buffet hall that seats thousands, and with only three show nights a week, book ahead.

Simon Cabaret has staged its ladyboy show in Patong for more than twenty years, in a theater built for big production numbers with sequins and feathers. The show runs about an hour and a quarter, and the cast gets through dozens of costume and scene changes, each done in seconds. Afterwards the performers line up outside for photos with the audience.

Siam Niramit is a stage show on Thai history and culture with more than 100 performers, and its effects bring rain, thunder and a river with boats onto the stage. Before it starts, guests walk through a recreated Thai village with free food tastings, batik painting and a canoe ride along the stream. The show came to Phuket in 2011 after years in Bangkok, and the buffet package makes a night of it.
