Celebrity Ink opened in Phuket in 2013 as a tattoo studio with two artists, and it has grown into a brand of more than 40 studios and 300 artists across 10 countries. The artists here cover Japanese, biomechanical, trash polka, dotwork and hyper-realism, and the studio still offers real bamboo tattoos alongside the machines. Piercers hold an infection prevention license and use surgical grade steel needles even for earlobes, and a cosmetic tattoo service handles brows, eyeliner and lips.

Pitbull Tattoo is a studio opened in April 2013 by Dario and Danilo, Italian brothers who had been living in Thailand since 2006. It runs Warrior Sessions, in which several artists work on one large piece at the same time, so a back piece or a cover up can be finished within a short trip. Japanese and tribal designs are often drawn freehand straight onto the skin to follow the shape of the body, and the artists also do realism, mandalas and Sak Yant with bamboo.

Mayhem Ink is an Australian owned tattoo studio that opened in late 2016, with hand picked artists who work either by machine or with the traditional Thai bamboo technique. The studio was custom built with high ceilings and curtained bays, so a client can be tattooed in privacy. Equipment is imported from the European Union, the inks are Fusion, Eternal and Dynamic, and consultations are free, in person or online, with native English speaking staff.
