Barcelo Coconut Island has Koh Maphrao, a small island off Phuket's east coast, to itself, and a free water taxi runs around the clock for the five minute crossing to Laem Hin Pier. The all inclusive rate covers three restaurants, among them Kucina with a wood burning pizza oven and Koko for Japanese fusion, plus house drinks through the day. Kayaking, paddleboarding, sailing, windsurfing, Muay Thai and yoga are included, and a kids club looks after children from 3 to 12.
“Barcelo Coconut Island is the most complete genuine all-inclusive in Phuket outside Club Med.”

Renaissance Phuket is set along the sands of Mai Khao Beach near Sirinat National Park, and its villas take their cues from the seaside folkways of southern Thailand. Quan Spa blends Thai healing traditions with modern wellness in treatments such as hot sand therapy and herbal massage. Takieng cooks Thai food with views of the beach and Yunami works as a coastal Japanese izakaya, while children have the Kids' World play area and a Dino Pool.

Club Med Phuket fronts a long stretch of Kata Beach, and the price covers meals, drinks at the bars all day and sports from sailing to a flying trapeze. Children go to clubs split by age, from babies to seventeen year olds, which leaves parents free for the spa or a Muay Thai class. In the newer Family Oasis, themed family rooms open onto a splash park.

How the points work
We read every independent published best-of list we can find for the question. Each list gives 10 points for first place, 9 for second, down to 1 for tenth, and 5 points to each place on a list with no order. Points are added up. A business must be in the top 10 of at least two lists to be ranked. Rankings are never sold. Full method.
