JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa covers 11 hectares of tropical gardens, freshwater ponds and preserved coastal wetlands on Mai Khao Beach, the only place in Phuket where turtles come ashore to lay their eggs. The Mai Khao Marine Turtle Foundation cares for sick and injured turtles on the grounds, and the Kids Turtle Warriors program lets children learn about them up close. Families can tour the JW Garden, where butterfly pea, pandan and lemongrass grow, and Benihana cooks teppanyaki as a show at the table.

SAii Laguna Phuket sits between a tropical lagoon and Bangtao Beach, and its main pool has the longest water slide at any Laguna property, a 55-meter run, with a separate kids' pool for younger swimmers. At Mafeung & Mafai's Junior Beach Club & Camp, children aged 4 to 12 try cooking, tie-dye and batik, with activities split by age group. Families can go out on catamaran rides from the beach, and Mr. Tomyam serves Thai food right on the sand.

Katathani sits on Kata Noi, one of the least crowded beaches on the island, and families switch between the surf and the pools all day. The new Vhari Wing is built for children, with family rooms, teen suites and a water park with slides, and Club Tully looks after the younger ones. The full board plan covers three meals with cocktails and beer included, and the restaurants run from teppanyaki to a steakhouse.
