Baba Nest sits on the roof of Sri Panwa, high on a headland, with open sea all the way around and nothing above the tables but sky. It is a sunset bar, so tables are booked and paid for in advance, often several days ahead. The drinks run to cocktails, wine and bubbles, with Mexican plates to eat alongside.

Kee Sky Lounge is a seventh floor rooftop built to look like the deck of a cruise liner, with daybeds facing out over the bay. It sits a short walk from Bangla Road but is quieter, and the terrace fills at sunset. The menu runs from the house cocktail, the Sky On Fire, to ribs, and there are regular jazz nights.

The Library is a book-lined cocktail bar with a Harry Potter feel, and behind it sits a nightclub where a DJ plays EDM to a packed floor. Bartenders work with fire and flair, and the group drinks arrive with theater, Pandora's Box among them, with a violinist joining in on some nights. Get there by half past ten for a seat, because it fills by eleven, even in low season.
