Ming Shou is a simple, spotless guesthouse on Krabi Road in Old Phuket Town, right across from the entrance to the Sunday walking market. Breakfast comes free each morning, with tea and coffee set out in the lobby through the day. The front desk arranges airport transfers and island trips, and once sent a guest's forgotten iPad on to Bangkok at no charge.

99 Oldtown fills an old Chinese shophouse on Thalang Road, and its rooms keep the feel of a traditional Baba home. The family that runs it keeps the rooms spotless, and some open onto balconies above Thalang Road, Old Town's main heritage street. On Sunday evenings the walking market sets up right outside the door.
