Cocoville Phuket sits on a hillside near Chalong Temple, with its villas spread through gardens of coconut palms and exotic flowers and a mountain view up to the Big Buddha. Two big outdoor pools run through the grounds, and every villa opens straight onto them. The restaurant cooks Thai and Western food, and the resort sells its own fitness package.
“I spent 4 weeks at Cocoville and it was like paradise.”

Happy Cottage sits on Soi Ta-iad, Chalong's street of Muay Thai and fitness gyms, yet its rooms stay quiet. Its bungalows face the pool, and each has a separate lounge as well as a bedroom. Guests on long stays value the washing machine and dryer on site, and the owner and staff go out of their way to help.
“Nueng was incredibly helpful and made my trip even more memorable!”

Flora Ville is a garden hotel on Soi Ta-iad, the stretch known as Fitness Street, and its rooms sit among the plants beside a fish pond and an outdoor pool. Sleeping out in the garden keeps nights quiet, and many guests come back year after year. Meals come from the on-site Chuen-Chom Café, which cooks Thai and international food with vegetarian dishes, and a few resident kittens have the run of the garden.
“They even went above and beyond to fish out my husbands wedding ring that had fallen in the pond.”

How the points work
We read every independent published best-of list we can find for the question. Each list gives 10 points for first place, 9 for second, down to 1 for tenth, and 5 points to each place on a list with no order. Points are added up. A business must be in the top 10 of at least two lists to be ranked. Rankings are never sold. Full method.
