Simon Cabaret has staged its ladyboy show in Patong for more than twenty years, in a theater built for big production numbers with sequins and feathers. The show runs about an hour and a quarter, and the cast gets through dozens of costume and scene changes, each done in seconds. Afterwards the performers line up outside for photos with the audience.

Sugar Club began in Bangkok in 2014, and this nightclub is the brand's second, built around a stage at the center of the room. Live performers, dancers and B-boys work that stage between DJ sets, and every night of the week carries its own name, from Savage on Friday to Goated, the Sunday girls' night out. The dress code rules out flip-flops and tank tops.
