Spa Burasari takes its name and its idea from the burasari flower, and its treatments draw on both Eastern and Western healing, worked with coconut oils and creams. The Burasari Signature Massage runs 90 or 120 minutes and moves from Swedish strokes into Thai stretching, Lomi Lomi and forearm pressure on acupuncture points. Spa suite bookings open with a 30 minute purification ritual of herbal foot bath, dry brushing, hot bath and local elixirs, and a sound therapy uses hand beaten Tibetan bowls.

Breeze Spa sits on the hillside at the Amari, above Patong Bay, and its treatment villas are open to the air, so the sea breeze does the cooling. The Mood Massage is the signature treatment, and a two-hour ritual pairs a body scrub and a full-body massage with a foaming bath. Some of the massage rooms look straight out to sea.
“The views at the top are absolutely incredible, overlooking the beach.”

Sansabai's door is on a narrow lane beside Jungceylon, but the building opens up inside, and after a foot wash at the entrance guests are taken upstairs to a floor of massage beds. Open from 10 in the morning until midnight, it offers Thai and deep tissue massage, hot oil, aloe vera and aromatherapy, and the hot herbal compress. Beauty treatments share the building, from manicures and pedicures to nail and eyelash extensions.
“My wife originally asked for a Hot Stone Massage, but they recommended the Hot Herbal Compress Massage instead, explaining that it would be more comfortable and relaxing.”

How the points work
We read every independent published best-of list we can find for the question. Each list gives 10 points for first place, 9 for second, down to 1 for tenth, and 5 points to each place on a list with no order. Points are added up. A business must be in the top 10 of at least two lists to be ranked. Rankings are never sold. Full method.
