Ko Yoon serves Hokkien prawn noodle soup, thick yellow noodles in a brown broth that smells of shrimp, rich without being heavy. Fried pork skin on the side adds crunch, and pickled green chilies bring a sharp, sour heat. The small shop by the Suriyadet fountain circle is crowded with household objects the family has collected, and they serve the tables themselves at low prices.
“It was one of the best noodle soups I’ve had.”

Kopitiam by Wilai cooks the Chinese and Thai food of old Phuket Town, with Hokkien mee made with thick yellow noodles or thin mee hoon, as you prefer. Spice and sweetness are adjusted to your taste, and the fruit sodas are made in house, with a butterfly pea flower drink for hot days. The century-old shophouse on Thalang Road was the Bumrungwong family home, and its walls are hung with old photographs of Phuket's tin mines.
“Lovely place with lots of authentic old world charm and the food was delicious.”

Aroon Po Chana is a family-owned halal kitchen a short way from Phuket's Old Town, where roti is dipped into goat or beef curry. A fried egg on top of the roti and curry set is recommended, because the runny yolk mixes into the curry. The pandan roti is filled with pandan custard, fried until lightly crisp and spread with more custard on top.
“I like the briyani rice.”

How the points work
We read every independent published best-of list we can find for the question. Each list gives 10 points for first place, 9 for second, down to 1 for tenth, and 5 points to each place on a list with no order. Points are added up. A business must be in the top 10 of at least two lists to be ranked. Rankings are never sold. Full method.
