L'Arôme sits above the water at Kalim Bay, with a rooftop deck for cocktails at sunset and a pared-back dining room below for the meal itself. Chef Maksim cooks modern French food with a touch of the Swiss Alps, served as a long degustation menu built around fresh seafood. Couples come here to propose and to mark anniversaries, and the staff plan the surprises with them.
“The meal itself was a surprise in every bite and absolutely outstanding.”

Café de Paris is a small French steak bistro on a quiet side street off the Patong beach road, run by Chef Alain. The steak comes with the house Café de Paris butter sauce and fries. Duck breast and beef tartare are also popular, and the kitchen makes its sauces by hand.
“Possibly my top 3 meals so far in Phuket.”

Cava Bien Marché is modeled on a Sunday market in Bordeaux, so the first thing you pass in this long Old Town shophouse on Dibuk Road is a deli counter of cured hams and cheeses, any of which can be cut onto a board for your table. Further in, beyond a small leafy garden open to the sky, the dining rooms are furnished with mismatched vintage chairs, blue pressed-glass goblets and a wall of old French film posters. Chef Sébastien Segurola, who trained in Paris under Yves Camdeborde and was named Iron Chef Thailand in 2022, chalks up the day's oysters and cooks the bistro dishes the French go out for: onion soup gratinée, Burgundy snails, tournedos Rossini and a crème brûlée made with foie gras.
“The atmosphere feels like a cozy French bistro, warm, stylish, and perfect for a relaxed evening.”

“At this quality of foods, guests must have paid double if they had French foods at other French restaurants in Phuket or Bangkok.”

How the points work
We read every independent published best-of list we can find for the question. Each list gives 10 points for first place, 9 for second, down to 1 for tenth, and 5 points to each place on a list with no order. Points are added up. A business must be in the top 10 of at least two lists to be ranked. Rankings are never sold. Full method.
