Little Edo specialises in Edo-style shabu-shabu and sukiyaki, cooked at the table with naturally marbled wagyu or Kurobuta pork. The dining room on Wirat Hong Yok Road has a small Japanese garden inside, and staff keep yukatas on hand for guests who want to dress up for photos. Sushi, sashimi, uni and foie gras fill out the menu beyond the hotpots.
“The hotpot is incredibly tasty, with rich and flavorful broth that makes every bite enjoyable.”

Tengoku, at the InterContinental in Kamala, cooks in the Osaka tradition, down to an okonomiyaki with golden, crisp edges topped with A4 Kagoshima wagyu. The tonkotsu ramen broth is simmered for hours until rich with collagen, and the lobster ramen comes in a deep shrimp broth. Start at the sake corner, where you can taste before you choose, in a softly lit room with private banquettes.
“The sashimi was exceptionally fresh, refined and perfectly cut.”

Nozomi is a Japanese izakaya with a Thai streak, and at its Boat Lagoon branch the tables look out over moored yachts, with live music outside in the evening. Every table starts with a free cob of grilled sweet corn, and the menu mixes sushi with izakaya plates such as karaage. Portions are generous for the price, and dogs get a water bowl at the table.

How the points work
We read every independent published best-of list we can find for the question. Each list gives 10 points for first place, 9 for second, down to 1 for tenth, and 5 points to each place on a list with no order. Points are added up. A business must be in the top 10 of at least two lists to be ranked. Rankings are never sold. Full method.
