The Library is the old town's late cocktail bar, and most nights the room is full by eleven, so aim to arrive by half past ten if you want a seat. The bartenders put on a show with fire, a violinist sometimes plays over the DJ, and the list goes from the classics to molecular cocktails. Early in the evening, cocktails are two for one.

Bebop is the old town's jazz bar, with a full band and a lead singer who holds the room through jazz, soul, Latin and blues until people get up to dance. It has moved from a small room into a much larger one, with space to sit back and a small terrace over the main street. Solo musicians can sit in at the jam sessions, and since the kitchen does little more than snacks, eat before you come.

Rockin' Angels is a small pub on Yaowarat Road in Phuket Old Town, where the owner takes the mic himself and sings the oldies. It has been going for 16 years, and players from local talent to touring international musicians drop in, with the owner inviting anyone who wants to play a song. There is no cover charge, and on a good night the cozy room packs out.
