Chillva draws a mostly young Thai crowd, and its two corners of shipping containers stacked two high hold bars with upstairs seats that look out over the whole market. A stage sits beside a pond in the main area, while the Retro Area at the back has softer lighting and tables set out more loosely. The food runs from pork skewers to fried insects and crocodile meat, and on Tuesdays a vintage market brings out secondhand clothing.

Known locally as Naka or Talad Tai Rot, this is the island's big weekend market, and the rows of stalls keep leading into new sections. The covered part is mostly secondhand, with deep piles of jeans, T-shirts and shoes, while the open lanes sell new clothes, souvenirs and local products. Most people end up at the street food center at the far end, and most vendors take cash.
“You can also haggle the prices if you wanna buy something.”

Lard Yai, the Sunday walking street, closes Thalang Road in Phuket Old Town to traffic from 4 pm, and stalls run for about 360 meters between Sino-Portuguese shophouses lit in changing colors. This is the market for things made locally, silver jewelry and hand-painted ceramics among them, often sold by the people who made them. Stalls take cash or Thai QR payment, and the crowd is thickest after 7 pm.
“There were so many things to see, buy, and try, from delicious local street food and desserts to souvenirs, handmade products, clothes, and unique gifts.”

“Would definitely go back to old town just to see the market again.”

How the points work
We read every independent published best-of list we can find for the question. Each list gives 10 points for first place, 9 for second, down to 1 for tenth, and 5 points to each place on a list with no order. Points are added up. A business must be in the top 10 of at least two lists to be ranked. Rankings are never sold. Full method.
