Amore is a small, cozy Tex-Mex restaurant and bar on Phang Nga Road in Phuket Town. Next to the tacos and burritos, the kitchen bakes mussels under cheese and fills enchiladas with shrimp. The bar pours a giant mojito and a mezcal sour, and the smoothies come in berry or watermelon.

Sala Mexicali is a California-style Mexican grill and tequila bar with three branches between Rawai and Phuket Town, with fair prices and margaritas poured strong. It fills up even on weeknights, so groups should book ahead, though a couple can usually find seats at the counter. The guacamole is made when you order it, and vegetarians and vegans get a real share of the menu.
