The Cove sits right on the sand at Ao Yon, one of the few Phuket beaches calm enough for small children to swim. The kitchen leans European, with tapas and a barbecued tuna steak cut from sashimi-grade fish. Staff will set up a private table on the sand for a proposal or celebration, and the bar mixes its own cocktails.

Panwa House is a restored Sino-Portuguese mansion, around eighty years old, standing on the beach at Cape Panwa Hotel, and most of what is inside is original. The cooking is traditional Thai with real Southern dishes meant for sharing, including sautéed crab with green pepper and duck red curry with grapes. On Saturday nights there is a fire show and Thai classical dance by the water.

Baba Iki serves omakase high above the Andaman Sea at Sri Panwa, with the chef preparing each course in front of the guests. The fish comes from Tokyo's Tsukiji market, from tuna and striped jack to sea bream and golden-eye snapper, across twelve courses or fifteen on the premium menu. The name comes from 'ikki', the Japanese call to drain a glass in one go, and the room matches it, lively and intimate.
“stunning views, happy and attentive staff, high quality seafood.”

How the points work
We read every independent published best-of list we can find for the question. Each list gives 10 points for first place, 9 for second, down to 1 for tenth, and 5 points to each place on a list with no order. Points are added up. A business must be in the top 10 of at least two lists to be ranked. Rankings are never sold. Full method.
