Live music is part of most evenings at iTalay, with a resident singer and, on some nights, an open microphone for anyone in the room. The kitchen sticks mostly to Thai cooking and seafood, from massaman chicken and tom yum to squid curry, with a few European plates, and the portions run large for the price.

Aloma's tables stand on the sand of Bang Tao Beach between two beach clubs, facing west, so dinner comes with the sun going down over the Andaman Sea. Bean bags at the front are set out for sunset drinks, with bamboo tables just behind for seafood, steak and Thai dishes such as fried prawns and papaya salad.

Sugar Cane cooks the food of Phuket alongside Thai standards, with moo hong, the slow-braised pork belly, and nam prik kung siap, a chili dip with smoked shrimp, as its signatures. The shrimp pad Thai uses sweet sea prawns in a rich sauce, and there is a yellow crab curry served with vermicelli noodles. The staff will adjust a dish to how you like to eat, and desserts are plated with care.
