One Chun cooks Southern Thai recipes handed down in the family, in a 19th century Old Town building that the owner, who came from fashion design, has fitted out in vintage tones. The crab meat in yellow curry with noodles comes thick with crab, and the Phuket-style braised pork belly, mu hong, is another house specialty. It holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand, the guide's mark for good cooking at moderate prices.
“The fish is skin-crispy, the curry very tasty (spicy, but not super spicy).”

Mor Mu Dong is a Southern Thai restaurant named for its owner, Mor, and the canal it stands on, with rustic pavilions in a mangrove forest where the view changes with the tide. A husband and wife opened it as a small kitchen cooking to order for local fishermen, and recipes like the curry with river snails and piper lolot leaves are their own. Live seafood waits in tanks by the open kitchen, and the Michelin Guide awards it a Bib Gourmand for good cooking at a fair price.

Chom Chan, in the Michelin Guide since 2019, is the quieter sister of One Chun in Phuket Town, and its signature is a coconut crab curry with wild betel leaves, thick with crab meat and eaten over rice noodles. The southern curries are cooked properly spicy, while the moo hong, Phuket's braised pork, is dark and peppery with a soft sweetness. Dishes come in small portions, so plan on ordering several to share.

How the points work
We read every independent published best-of list we can find for the question. Each list gives 10 points for first place, 9 for second, down to 1 for tenth, and 5 points to each place on a list with no order. Points are added up. A business must be in the top 10 of at least two lists to be ranked. Rankings are never sold. Full method.
