The chef at The Bua came from hotel kitchens, and he cooks authentic Thai food at prices that have made it popular with people who live in Kamala. The kitchen fries crab legs and tosses crab through a pomelo salad, and its khao soi can be made vegetarian. Its tables stand on an open-air wooden deck right above the sand of Kamala Beach.

Romantic Dining is the private dinner service of Thavorn Beach Village Resort at Nakalay Bay, where each couple is served in a candle-lit cabana on the resort's own beach. Menus are set or à la carte, and the Thai set brings massaman curry and prawns in tamarind sauce. Some evenings include a fire show on the sand, and the staff take a photo for each table to keep.

Charoen Seafood is the family-run restaurant of the Kamala Dreams hotel on the beach road, where the chef buys the seafood at Kamala's morning markets. The cooking is homemade Thai, with mussels in curry and a seafood salad with red snapper among the house dishes, and regulars recommend the panang curry with prawns. For dessert, the kitchen rolls homemade ice cream on a frozen pan and fries Thai pancakes.
