L'Arôme by the Sea is a French restaurant above Kalim Bay, and evenings start on its rooftop Sunset Deck with oysters, caviar and cocktails over the Andaman Sea. Chef Maksym Chukanov came from Noma 2.0 in Copenhagen and Cure in Singapore, and his seasonal tasting menu is built around the sea, using curing, aging and fermentation on Thai ingredients. The wine list of over 200 labels, mostly Bordeaux and Burgundy, took Silver at Star Wine List of the Year Asia 2025, and the Michelin Guide has listed the restaurant since 2023.

The Boathouse is a restaurant on Kata Beach with tables at the edge of the sand, a pool bar beside them and a second-floor terrace that looks over Kata Bay at sunset. The kitchen cooks Southern Thai and Western food side by side, and the menu includes a Lamb Shank Massaman. Wine Spectator has recognized its cellar of over 150 labels for decades, and the degustation menu pairs a wine with each course.

Dinner in the Sky is a restaurant on an open platform that a 200 ton crane lifts 50 meters above Karon Beach, with up to 22 diners harnessed into their seats. The platform turns slowly so each seat gets the Andaman Sea, the hills and the Big Buddha in the distance, and the sunset session is worth booking if you can. A chef cooks a three course Seafood, Meat or Signature Thai menu right on the platform, with a bartender mixing cocktails in the middle and a DJ playing.

How the points work
We read every independent published best-of list we can find for the question. Each list gives 10 points for first place, 9 for second, down to 1 for tenth, and 5 points to each place on a list with no order. Points are added up. A business must be in the top 10 of at least two lists to be ranked. Rankings are never sold. Full method.
