Torry's makes ice cream from Thai and Phuket sweets, coconut, black sesame, even the local pepper cookie, and serves it in a pastel pink Sino-Portuguese shophouse filled with antiques. Swensen's in Phuket Town serves its sundaes in a glass house overlooking a fountain square on Tilok Uthit 1 Road. The menu runs from classic sundaes to the Earthquake, eight scoops piled high with toppings. The parlor is a favorite with local families as well as visitors.

Sweet Talk sells Italian ice cream and cakes on the beach road at Karon, and its mango ice cream is mildly sweet, smooth and fragrant with mango. Bingsu and honey toast are on the menu too, with cakes such as blueberry cheesecake and banoffee. The shop opens into the coffee shop next door, so one of you can have a scoop while the other has a cappuccino made with Chiang Rai or Omkoi beans.
