Ma Doo Bua, Thai for "come see the lotus", is built around a pond of Victoria Amazonica, the largest water lily in the world, with round leaves that grow more than three meters across. Staff pose guests on a leaf with a parasol, and a long-tail boat moored among the pads becomes the set for drone shots filmed from above. The kitchen leans on Phuket home cooking such as moo hong, and lotus stem and lotus seeds turn up in several of its dishes.
“The giant lily pads are absolutely stunning and make for a unique photo opportunity.”

GRAPH roasts Thai-grown beans in Chiang Mai and pours them in a restored Sino-Portuguese shophouse in Phuket Old Town. The signature drinks are as inventive as they are balanced, like the Monochrome, a dark layer of espresso and activated charcoal over vanilla and milk. Wood tones, soft light, and friendly, skilled baristas make the room as photogenic as the cups.
“Graph CafĂ© was one of the most memorable coffee experiences I had in Phuket.”

Refresh Tropical Cafe is tucked away beside the Limelight Avenue parking lot, and behind its door a small plunge pool, dressed with straw and woven baskets, sits at the center of a leafy tropical garden. Fresh fruit smoothies are the house specialty, and the smoothie bowls arrive beautifully presented and made with fresh fruit. Seasonal drinks such as a longan shaved ice join the menu through the year, alongside durian chips made in house.
“The tropical theme is well done and makes the place very picturesque.”

“The inside ambiance was cozy and welcoming and the staff was friendly.”

How the points work
We read every independent published best-of list we can find for the question. Each list gives 10 points for first place, 9 for second, down to 1 for tenth, and 5 points to each place on a list with no order. Points are added up. A business must be in the top 10 of at least two lists to be ranked. Rankings are never sold. Full method.
