Kopitiam by Wilai recreates the old Chinese coffee shops of the Malay Peninsula in a century-old Old Town shophouse, with red lanterns hanging under the ceiling fans and old photographs of Phuket on the walls. Its mango sticky rice comes with the rice served warm and a scoop of coconut ice cream beside the fruit. The rest of the menu is the Hokkien and Thai cooking of old Phuket Town, and bak kut teh, pork ribs in a peppery broth, is one of its signature dishes.

Wanlamun has been making Thai sweets in Phuket Town for decades, and its mango sticky rice pairs soft, warm sticky rice with ripe, juicy mango. As the busiest Thai sweet shop in town, it keeps several mixing counters going out front, so ordering stays quick even when the room is full. It is also one of the few places still making oh-aew, the Phuket iced dessert of banana jelly and red beans.
“Best mango and sticky rice in Phuket hands down!”

“The desserts were perfectly sweet and delicate, just as the name of the shop suggests.”

Raya serves a classic, well made mango sticky rice in the early twentieth century Sino-Portuguese mansion where Kularb Jesadawal began cooking her family's Phuket recipes for the public in 1994. Her relatives still cook those recipes, and the yellow crab curry, thick with crab and turmeric and poured over thin rice noodles, is the dish that made the house famous. The mansion keeps its original mosaic floor tiles and its green wooden windows of Portuguese stained glass.
“known far and wide and people come from all over the island to eat here”

How the points work
We read every independent published best-of list we can find for the question. Each list gives 10 points for first place, 9 for second, down to 1 for tenth, and 5 points to each place on a list with no order. Points are added up. A business must be in the top 10 of at least two lists to be ranked. Rankings are never sold. Full method.
