Chalong's night market fills the HomePro Village car park on Monday and Tuesday evenings with people from the neighbourhood buying dinner, and often the next morning's breakfast too, in bags of home-style curry, fish cakes fried while they wait and grilled seafood. Portions are generous and prices low and fixed, so nobody haggles, and the fruit is sold ripe and ready to eat. Tuesday is the busier night, with clothing stalls among the food, and everything packs up by about 9.30.

HomePro Village Chalong

Most of a household's errands can be done in one stop at HomePro Village Chalong, where banks and a Boots pharmacy sit around the big HomePro home store near the Chalong Circle. Its Villa Market draws expats for export-quality meat and a long wine list, and much of the produce is organic. The HomePro store fills the rest of the complex with furniture and appliances.
