Giant gorilla and Hulk statues guard the entrances to Kata Night Market. Under three large domed roofs, one pavilion holds a big food court with a bar in front, and the other two are filled with market stalls. Meals and souvenirs here are good value.

Kata Plaza, also known as K Plaza, is a pair of bazaar-style lanes on Kata Road near Club Med, packed with holiday souvenirs. Elephant-themed gifts fill many of its stalls. At the entrance there are tailor shops and an optician, along with a small cafe.
Kata Walking Street is an evening market by the beach, and its food runs from pork ribs and shrimp noodles to Japanese street snacks and mango sticky rice. The outdoor tables are kept clean, and many stall holders speak English, with menus printed in English, Russian and Chinese. Clothing and souvenir stalls line the main strip, where haggling is part of buying.

How the points work
We read every independent published best-of list we can find for the question. Each list gives 10 points for first place, 9 for second, down to 1 for tenth, and 5 points to each place on a list with no order. Points are added up. A business must be in the top 10 of at least two lists to be ranked. Rankings are never sold. Full method.
