Jungceylon is Patong's main shopping mall, a few minutes' walk from Bangla Road and about 400 meters from the beach. It reopened in 2024 after a two-year renovation, and its fashion floors now center on a two-floor Uniqlo, with souvenir stalls and a Thai food court in the basement below. In the open-air court called The Bay, a Chinese junk boat stands in the water, and fountain and light shows play around it in the evening.
“The mall is large, modern, and very well designed, with different themed areas and plenty of space to walk around comfortably.”

Malin Plaza is an open-air market at the quiet southern end of Patong Beach, and most people come as much to eat as to shop. The bazaar section sells beachwear, bags and leather goods, some of it from air-conditioned shipping containers, and bargaining is expected. Seafood is picked from the stalls and grilled on the spot, and the stalls take cash only.
“the front section is a massive open-air food court, while the back stretch is dedicated to shopping”

OTOP Market is the big open-air market on Patong's second road, opposite the Hard Rock Cafe, with covered bazaars down both sides and a food court at the front. Its name stands for One Tambon One Product, a program for selling handicrafts from each Thai province, though most stalls now sell football shirts, trainers and copies of designer labels. Shop prices start high and are meant to be bargained down, while the food stalls keep fixed prices.
“Good place to pick up souvenirs without feeling ripped off and the layout makes browsing stress free.”

How the points work
We read every independent published best-of list we can find for the question. Each list gives 10 points for first place, 9 for second, down to 1 for tenth, and 5 points to each place on a list with no order. Points are added up. A business must be in the top 10 of at least two lists to be ranked. Rankings are never sold. Full method.
